a New Visions Charter High School

Advanced Math & Science III

Proud Parent: Cindy Joseph

Dear Fellow Parents I am writing to you to tell you about my experience with AMS III Family School Alliance (FSA) and what it means to me. As a parent, I find it super important to be active and involved in my child’s education. One way I try to do this is become more acclimated with my son’s school in any way that I can. I am the parent of a 10th grader and when my son was chosen to attend New Visions for Advanced Math and Science III, one of my first questions I had for the school was, how I can become more involved to help my child succeed. I was then made aware that there was a group of parents that met once a month with other like minded parents that valued their children’s education.

I was ecstatic about the opportunity to become involved with what is called the Family-School Alliance (FSA). Now while I won’t write a book or go into great detail about how much I love the school and its entire staff, I will just point out and tell you what FSA means to me: FSA means that I have a voice, I have an opinion, and I have the right to know what is going on in my child’s school. FSA is not only my platform to meet with other parents, but it gives me the opportunity to learn and grow with others parents who feel the same.

FSA means I have a support system that can help, if need be, as well as get goals and projects accomplished. My ultimate goal is to get my son graduated from high school and off to a great 4 year college.  I want to instill in him that having a college degree and career mind is the key to being a good citizen as well as the pathway to opening doors for opportunities that you may never experience without one.

AMS III has been a great stepping stone for me and my son and we all seem to be working on these goals collectively. I love the fact that “our” FSA encourages parent involvement which ultimately helps all our children to succeed. Lastly, I want to add that “our” FSA is free, every parent with a child in the school is a member, FSA is flexible and most importantly, everyone is welcoming.

Proud Parent,
