How to Apply

Registration & Enrollment

Registration to New Visions Advanced Math & Science High School IV is by lottery.  Application can be done at newvisions.schoolmint.net/signin, applying for Advanced Math & Science IV. Once you complete the application to our school you are put on a waitlist until you are offered admission. Lottery usually takes place around the first week of April so it is very important to have your applications in before April 1st.

Who is eligible for admission?

We accept applications for incoming 9th and 10th grade students - that is students currently in 8th grade or students in 9th grade looking to transfer for 10th grade.
Students who successfully meet the New York City 8th grade graduation requirements are eligible to enroll for the 9th grade; students who successfully completed 9th grade requirements are eligible to enroll for 10th grade.
We do not require exams, essays or interviews. We welcome applications from English language learners and students with special needs.

Offered a Seat & Enrollment Process

We typically accept 150 9th grade students and a small number of 10th grade seats (around 15 seats). We have a large selection of our waitlist students that do enroll with us.

Once you have been offered a seat at our school it is very important that you accept the seat as soon as possible and begin the enrollment process. Below you will find a brief video on how to do so.

  • We enroll students over the summer and during the school year.

Next Steps

Once enrollment is complete you will need to do the following to verify your enrollment.

Please provide the following documents via email to ams4admissions@charter.newvisions.org

  • Your Photo ID
  • Copy of a proof of address (Such as utility, phone bill etc.)
  • Copy of Immunization Records
  • Copy of IEP for students with special needs (if applicable)
  • Most recent report card
  • Birth Certificate


Once we receive all documents your child’s registration will be verified.

We Are Currently Accepting Waitlist Applications

If you missed the April 3rd lottery deadline, you can still submit an application! We accept students on a rolling basis and many students from the waiting list do enroll.

You fill out an application online, in person or by mail. The last day to apply for transfer is typically in mid-March.

You will receive an email or letter confirming that we’ve received your application. If a seat becomes available, you will be contacted to come in for registration. However, you can always call us to see where you are on the wait list.
