Application Information


Eligibility

Applicants must be seniors in New Visions schools who will graduate by June 2010 and who demonstrate:

  • Academic achievement, evidence of rigorous coursework, strong independent learning skills, curiosity and self-motivation
  • College readiness, ability to excel beyond requirements of difficult high school coursework 
  • Leadership in school and community activities 
  • Integrity, actions that exhibit strength of character and ethical awareness 
  • Resilience and drive in overcoming obstacles and achieving goals 
  • Financial need and U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency.

 

Application Description

Eligible students must complete the BlackRock-Schlosstein Scholarship Application. In addition to the application form, all applicants will be asked to submit online:

  • One student essay
  • One example of rigorous coursework
  • Two letters of recommendation 
  • One official student transcript

Submission and Deadline

We are now accepting applications for 2010. Click here to apply.

Applications are due January 18th, 2010. Please note that the official transcript must be postmarked by January 18th, so request your transcript early.
