Program Details
Each year, New Visions will welcome three part-time Resident Researchers who will commit an average of 15 to 21 hours per week for one calendar year. Based on their skills and expertise, each Resident Researcher will become a critical member of one of the following New Visions’ home units: Policy, Data Analysis and Applied Research, or Innovation and EDesign. Working independently and with members of their home units, Resident Researchers will support the development of programs, solutions, and strategies aimed at energizing teaching and learning and raising the level of student achievement in New Visions schools.
- The Resident Researcher, Policy will conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analyses to help New Visions understand and answer key questions in the development of education policies and programmatic initiatives.
- The Resident Researcher, Data will engage in quantitative analyses to help New Visions assess key initiatives, including the adoption and diffusion of a student data management platform.
- The Resident Researcher, Innovation and EDesign will explore new ways of incubating ideas, researching user needs, analyzing options, facilitating cross-disciplinary expertise in designing innovative solutions, and integrating feedback from schools, teachers, students, and families.
Resident Researchers will receive targeted support and guidance from their home units as they conduct their work.
