New Visions works closely with principals to ensure that students have the resources, support and school structures they need to be successful. In cultivating the growth of new school leaders, New Visions has established a leadership certification model, Scaffolded Apprenticeship Model (SAM), that strengthens teaching skills and helps teachers become change agents within their school communities.
LEARNFund for Teachers
New Visions partners with Fund for Teachers (FFT) to support the professional development of outstanding New York City public school teachers by funding summer learning experiences.
LEARNGuidance Counselor Network
Through a strong network of college advisers and guidance counselors, New Visions helps students prepare for life after high school and access the resources and information they need to successfully navigate the college and career search, application and financial aid processes.
LEARNInternational Partnership on Literacy
The Transatlantic School Innovation Alliance (TSIA) connects a select group of public schools in New York City and London that are united in an effort to identify, test and implement effective strategies for improving literacy skills in underperforming students.
LEARNCampus Librarian Network
The Campus Librarian Network (CLN) is facilitated by the Astor Center for Public School Libraries at New Visions, jointly with the Department of Education’s Office of Library Services, to provide librarians monthly opportunities for professional learning and collaboration.
LEARNTeacher Certification
The New Visions for Public Schools–Hunter College Urban Teacher Residency (UTR) is a unique 14-month teacher-training program that fully integrates the graduate coursework of aspiring teachers with intensive, hands-on experiences in New York City schools. LEARN
