  • BMI John Lennon Scholarship

    Summary: For songwriters between the ages of 15 and 25 who are working in any genre of music.

    Eligibility: Must be a current student or alumnus/alumna of one of the schools listed on the application or participate through a local National Association for Music Education (MENC) collegiate chapter of their school. Must submit original song with lyrics accompanied by whatever instrumentation is chosen by applicant.

  • The Random House Creative Writing Competition For New York City Public High School Seniors

    Summary: For New York City public high school students.

    Eligibility: Must be a high school senior attending a New York City public high school. Original literary composition must be submitted in the genre of poetry/spoken word, fiction/drama, personal essay/memoir, or graphic novel. All submissions must be typed, double-spaced, and no longer than ten pages with a minimum font size of 12 point. All pages must also be numbered. A four-page minimum is recommended in the fiction/drama category. There is no minimum for the other categories.

    Deadline: February 11 - for poetry/ spoken word/ fiction/ drama, and personal essay.

    Deadline: April 1 - for graphic novel.

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarship Program

    Summary: For students from communities with limited access to educational and career opportunities who have demonstrated academic achievement and community involvement.

    Eligibility: Must be a high school senior, younger than 21 years of age, eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a full course of study and reside in a local chapter's geographic area (Please refer to www.rmhc.org to confirm which scholarship programs are offered in your county). Must be a legal resident of the U.S.
