  • Lulu.Poetry Contest

    Summary: For all poets.

    Eligibility: Contest open to individual persons who are 18 or older as of the time of their initial entry. Your poem(s) must be in English, your poems must be your original work, and you must not assign or license to any other party any copyrights or other rights in your poems. Poems should not contain material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, pornographic, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, or otherwise objectionable. Proper spelling and grammar also help. Previous winners of the Lulu Poetry Yearly Contest grand prize are not eligible to win the Yearly Contest again. Noncitizens may apply.

  • The New York Times College Scholarship Program

    Summary: For New York City high school seniors demonstrating academic achievement, a commitment to learning—especially in the face of financial and other obstacles—and community service.

    Eligibility: Must be a senior attending a public, parochial or private high school in New York City.

    Amount: Up to $7,500 per year, renewable for three years.

  • Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Scholarship

    Summary: For high school seniors with a learning disability who are planning to pursue an undergraduate degree.

    Eligibility: Must demonstrate financial need and be a U.S. citizen with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

  • Carolina Rice Scholarship

    Summary: For high school seniors who plan to go to college.

    Eligibility: Must attend high school in the metro areas of New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Miami Dade and Broward counties, Los Angeles, Orange county or San Francisco/ San Jose. Must submit an essay on the topic provided in English or Spanish and be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a Social Security number.

  • Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program

    Summary: For high school students who are committed to using there degrees in service to others.

    Eligibility: Must be a high school senior with a minimum 2.0 GPA, involved in extracurricular activities with demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity pursuing college. Must have critical financial need ($50,000 and lower) and a U.S. citizen.

  • Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarship

    Summary: To foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity by encouraging research into the characteristics and use of intelligence.

    Eligibility: Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States planning to enroll in a degree program at an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning. Must reside in a participating America Mensa local group area.
