    Summary: For high school seniors with a learning disability who are planning to pursue an undergraduate degree.

    Eligibility: Must demonstrate financial need and be a U.S. citizen with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

  • Yes, I Can Foundation for Exceptional Children Award

    Summary: For students between 2 and 21 years old with a disability. Award categories include academics, arts, athletics, community service, employment, extracurricular activities, independent living skills, self-advocacy, and technology.

    Eligibility: Must be a youth up to 21 years old and be nominated.

  • Stony Wold-Herbert Fund, Inc.

    Summary: For students with respiratory or pulmonary problems who live or go to school in Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.

    Eligibility: Must plan to enroll in an academic or technical training program and demonstrate financial need.

  • New York State Readers Aid Program

    Summary: For visually or hearing-impaired students to pay for note takers, readers, or interpreters while attending a two- or four-year college.
     

    Eligibility: Must have severe to profound hearing loss or a speech discrimination of less than 70 percent or be legally blind. Must be a resident of New York state.

  • National Federation for the Blind Scholarships

    Summary: For legally blind high school seniors planning to pursue a full-time postsecondary course of study in a degree program at a U.S. institution.

    Eligibility: Must be legally blind in both eyes, and residing in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

  • Ferdinand Torres Scholarship

    Summary: For legally blind high school seniors accepted to a full-time undergraduate program. Preference given to applicants residing in the New York City metropolitan area and to new immigrants to the United States.

    Eligibility: Must be legally blind, demonstrate financial need, and be a U.S. resident. Noncitizens may apply.

  • Deaf Queer Youth Scholarship Fund

    Summary: For self-identified deaf lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex college-bound youth who have showed commitment to social change.  

    Eligibility: Must be deaf or hard of hearing, identify and be out as a LGBTIQ youth, be under 25 years old, currently enrolled in high school or college, a U.S. citizen, and have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

  • Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing College Scholarship Award

    Summary: For students with moderate to profound bilateral hearing loss admitted to a college or university program that primarily enrolls students with normal hearing.

    Eligibility: Must demonstrate a serious commitment to academic and career excellence, must have unaided puretone average of 500, 1,000, and 2,000 Hz, and be committed to using spoken language.
