New Visions Schools and Teachers

The New Visions Network of Schools

New Visions, as a Partnership Support Organization (PSO), serves a wide range of schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. In small schools and large, in schools newly created and those long established, New Visions supports student achievement at all grade levels.

The New Visions network contains schools that serve students in grade ranges K–12, K–6, K–8, 6–12 and 9–12. New Visions supports four prekindergarten programs and 12 transfer schools designed to help older students who have fallen behind in credits to graduate. Ninety percent of New Visions schools are either new or small schools.

New Visions Teachers

New Visions schools need teachers in all subject areas and grade levels with an array of backgrounds, experiences and skill sets.

As part of the New Visions network of schools, teachers have access to a variety of important resources, professional development opportunities and community partnerships — many of them exclusively for those working in New Visions schools.

  • Support and resources: a wide range of instructional supports and resources, including instructional coaching and tools for understanding and using student data to increase student achievement
  • Professional development opportunities: meaningful growth opportunities within the school building and access to New Visions’ grants for teacher development
  • Collaborative learning communities: collaborations within a professional network of teachers as well as with administrators, parents, community leaders and students.
