Overview
New Visions for Public Schools’ Learning Networks
are designed to link the support, leadership development,
and retention of teachers to the work of improving
schools and increasing student achievement. The Learning
Networks provide participants structured, collaborative
opportunities to strengthen content knowledge, examine
pedagogy and assessment approaches, improve their
own practice and foster school change. Simultaneously,
the Networks give veteran teachers, coaches and/or
administrators the opportunity to develop and utilize
their instructional leadership skills as they receive
facilitation training from New Visions and lead their
peers in collaborative, inquiry-based learning focused
on students’ learning needs. By creating the
structures for schools to work together, the Networks
accelerate the transfer of practitioner knowledge
to drive both school and system transformation.
