As a school centered around the humanities, we’ll teach you how to study the stories, the ideas and the words that will help you make sense of your world. You’ll learn how to write and communicate your ideas clearly- skills you’ll need in college and in your career.
Starting as early as 9th grade, you’[ll begin to visit colleges within and outside of New York City. In the 11th grade, you'll take a college and career readiness course and will have the opportunity to earn college credits through St. John’s University Advantage courses and CUNY COllege Now.
We offer a wide variety of Advanced Placement courses including statistics, environmental science, language and composition, as well as other exciting courses like advanced theater production, theater arts, visual arts, hip hop studies, documentary studies, and creative writing courses.
Outside of the classroom, you’ll have access to a variety of extracurricular activities, including: literary magazine, theater production, National Honor Society, martial arts and chess. Students clubs are developed based on student interests.
We partner with community-based organizations like Project Pawn Inc, Girls Inc. and SUNY Downstate Adolescent Education programs, to empower our scholars to lead healthy, well-balanced lives.
