HUM II offers a variety of challenging courses and intervention programs to meet our scholars evolving needs. Your child will be supported and encouraged academically, nurtured socially, and exposed to innovative technology, rich cultural experiences, and leadership development. Our priority is to ensure that all Humanities II scholars have a college and career plan and will be able to use their acquired habits and skills to persevere in their post secondary pathways. At HUM II our scholars are college bound and proud!
Preparing Humanities II scholars academically for college means that we engage them in authentic learning tasks where they use their critical thinking skills to discover, analyze, and help solve real-world issues. To this end, literacy development is a foundational feature of our academic program. Upon graduation HUM II scholars will be equipped with the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills they will need for college and their careers.
Additional learning time each day and Summer Bridge program in the 9th and 10th grades deepens scholars’ understanding in each subject. Our trimester schedule offers more opportunities to earn credits toward graduation.
HUM II isn’t just about reading, writing, math and science. Our small-group programs support scholars as they grow into adulthood through sports, art, extracurriculars and extensive mentoring.
Over four years at HUM II, scholars explore pathways to college and career through job-shadowing programs, internships, college-level classes and overnight college trips.
