A Message from the Principal

Dear Potential AMS Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your interest in joining the New Visions Charter High School for Advanced Math and Science (AMS) family! We are committed to helping scholars succeed academically and cultivating their moral character to prepare them for college and beyond.

At AMS, scholars learn how to solve real-world issues, developing the literacy, critical thinking, listening and speaking skills that they need to communicate easily and persuasively to any audience they encounter.

Our three core values are Rigor, Respect and Responsibility, reinforcing in our students the value of working hard, treating others kindly and owning what they do.

We encourage you to join us on our path to excellence!

Sincerely,

Julia Chun, Principal

Extracurricular activities

PSAL sports, including football, baseball, basketball, soccer, track, tennis, gymnastics and volleyball. After-school activities including drama, homework help and reading.

Important things for parents to know

AMS prepares scholars for the demands of college with an intense focus on writing in every course throughout each trimester. We value lasting relationships with all families, in order to create the foundation that all scholars need for success. Students are required to wear the uniform daily. They also have the advantage of an extended day for more learning time.

About our campus

Housed on one of the largest campuses in New York city, AMS is one of eight schools that share the John F. Kennedy campus. We play sports together, share resources and work cooperatively to ensure that all students on our campus are successful.
