We’re proud to be a leading partner in supporting New York City Public Schools’ initiatives for student success. Our deep collaborations with NYC Solves and NYC Science Core Curriculum demonstrate our commitment to supporting students, educators, and schools across the city.
Since September 2023, we have provided coaching and thought-partnership for teachers, school leaders, and district leaders as they work to roll out – Illustrative Mathematics® Algebra 1 curriculum citywide.
Since 2016, we have worked with teachers in NYC to co-design engaging and user-friendly science materials for high school courses. These courses have been selected by NYC Public Schools as Core Curriculum and we support district and school-level stakeholders in effectively implementing them.
All students deserve access to excellent math instruction. We are pleased to partner with NYC Solves to support teachers across the city shifting to a more student-centered, problem-based approach to teaching mathematics.
Curriculum-Based Instructional Coaching
As an IM Certified® Professional Learning Partner, we work with teachers and school leaders to understand the components of the Illustrative Mathematics® courses, prepare them to teach the materials, support implementation in the classroom, analyze data to inform instructional decisions, and reflect on student learning.
Collaboration and Learning with Partners
We work alongside partners providing coaching in other NYC districts as well as with the NYC Public Schools leadership team. We prioritize recognizing teachers’ perspectives and including these in decision-making about the initiative.
New Visions is thrilled that our science courses, designed with and for NYC teachers, have been selected as Core Curriculum offerings for NYC Public Schools. Over 450 NYC high schools have selected to adopt New Visions Biology and Earth & Space Science curricula.
Through a partnership with NYC Public Schools, New Visions is proud to offer all schools that have selected New Visions Biology or Earth & Space Science as their core curriculum with immersive, engaging workshops on each unit in our science courses, to make excellent teaching accessible to all. We also offer customized, school-level coaching as an additional service, to support teachers in implementing what they learn in workshops.
Through generous funding from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Curriculum Adoption Project for Science (CAPS) brings together stakeholders from across NYC schools and NYC superintendents’ offices to form a Science Curricula Steering Committee which guides our curriculum development and implementation efforts.

We are thrilled to work with the Office of Multilingual Learners (OML) at NYC Public Schools to ensure teachers of English language learners have the support they need to implement our science curriculum with their students.
