New Visions works with schools to ensure that students receive high-quality support to pursue college and careers. We also design and implement scalable models of work-based learning so students can discover their interests and develop essential career skills through direct engagement with employers.

Every New Visions school in our core network works with students and their caregivers to ensure that students graduate with a viable postsecondary plan and the support, skills, and experience to successfully transition into adulthood.

Bridge to College

Our Bridge to College Program helps high school seniors prepare for the transition into higher education during the summer of their senior year by pairing each student with an alumni mentor.

Career Academy

Our Career Academies are 5-week summer programs in which high school students engage with leading New York City employers to explore careers, build career readiness, and financial literacy skills, and network with professionals.

Career Directory

Our Career Directory helps students and school staff navigate New York City’s complex landscape of postsecondary career training opportunities by making it easy for students and school staff to find training and certification programs, internships, and apprenticeships. 

College Enrollment Guides

In order to help students navigate the college enrollment process, New Visions has developed a series of matriculation guides with specific tips for enrolling in more than 100 colleges.  Each guide serves as a checklist, providing students with links to school specific information on what’s needed to enroll successfully.

College and Career Access & Action Network (CAAN)

Our College and Career Access & Action Network (CAAN) brings together counselors and other professionals supporting students’ postsecondary planning to develop their capacity and ensure they have access to up to date information on policy and practice.

Cultivator & Ambassador Model

The Cultivator & Ambassador models engage students in career-readiness activities with corporate partners designed to promote understanding of careers, workplace norms, employer expectations, and the knowledge and skills necessary for career success.

Postsecondary Advising Model

Our Postsecondary Advising Model (PAM) increases the postsecondary enrollment and persistence rate across schools in the New Visions Affinity Network by improving systems for student advising. 

Purpose First Curriculum

Our Purpose First Curriculum provides educators with lessons and activities through which students explore and identify their interests and strengths and develop these into intentional postsecondary plans. 

Scholarships

New Visions provides over $1.25 million in scholarships annually to support students pursuing a wide range of postsecondary pathways from career training to college. 

Student Advisory Network

Our Student Advisory Network is an internship-like experience in which students from our partner schools develop leadership, public speaking, and creative problem solving skills through projects which elevate their voices and strengthen the work of their schools and New Visions.

Work-Based Learning

Our partnerships provide work-based learning programs that engage students in activities to develop their career readiness skills while our Work-Based Learning Professional Development series supports school staff in advancing career preparatory programming.
