The New Visions Postsecondary Advising Model (PAM) expands postsecondary opportunities for students by helping schools develop effective systems for college and career advising. We piloted PAM in 2018 with 28 schools and expanded to our entire Affinity network of 71 schools in 2023.
The Postsecondary Advising Model consists of full day convenings, in-school coaching, and ongoing professional development. Convenings take place three times annually and are organized to coincide with critical milestones in the postsecondary planning timeline. Coaching provides counselors and postsecondary teams with personalized guidance as they support students in navigating college, career, and military pathways.
School staff participating in PAM are trained in using the Portal by New Visions, which contains CUNY and financial aid application data, to develop plans and monitor the progress of students in meeting critical postsecondary milestones.
