Career Academy

Our Career Academies are 5-week summer programs in which high school students engage with leading New York City employers to explore careers, build career readiness and financial literacy skills, and network with professionals.

Our Vision

Hands On Career Preparation

We recognize that a critical gap in the career preparation for many public school students is limited access to employers, paid work experiences, and exposure to high-growth industries. These students miss out on opportunities to build financial literacy and develop essential career skills. New Visions has developed programs that leverage New York City’s expansive private sector to address this opportunity gap.

VISION

Our Career Academy program reflects our commitment to expanding access to authentic work-based learning experiences for high school students

The New Visions Career Academies provide:

Exposure

Give public school students opportunities to engage directly with employees at top-tier companies

Career Readiness Skills

Develop communication, collaboration, networking and personal financial management skills through hands on projects presented to industry professionals

Compensation

Participating students earn a stipend of up to $1000 upon completion of key milestones associated with the program.

Benefits to Employers

“I loved being able to speak to students who are in the same shoes I was once in. Being able to connect with them and answer questions that impact their day-to-day and future plans felt so good.”
