School Support

Schools & Outcomes

New Visions is a lead partner to 71 schools under the NYCPS Affinity School Support model. Our network of schools provides unique opportunities for educators to share knowledge and disseminate best practices for preparing students for successful futures in college and the workplace.

New Visions supports our partner schools in developing and sustaining reliable practices and systems so that principals and their staff can focus on supporting the students they serve.

By building networks for educators to collaborate and learn together; creating resources that are responsive to school and student needs; and providing powerful, effective tools that enable educators to focus on serving their students, New Visions creates the conditions for educators—and their students—to thrive.

Program Features

Continuous Improvement Coaching

Since 2018, New Visions School Support coaches have engaged school leaders in Continuous Improvement and Leadership Coaching that is intentionally connected to our Strategic Data Check-in Strategy. Coaching cycles include the development of Student Intervention Systems, and the monitoring of the effectiveness of those interventions through data informed conversations.

Program Features

Strategic Data Check Ins (SDCs)

New Visions School Support coaches regularly engage school teams in conducting Strategic Data Check-ins. SDCs are protocol-driven conversations that take place at defined points during the school year in which educators use student level data to support critical administrative and student planning decisions. Our coaches work with school teams to assure that there are individual plans in place for all students, and they monitor student progress in critical areas throughout the year.

In addition, all schools in the network have access to comprehensive professional development for educators, curriculum, and program design support.

“The support that New Visions provides doesn’t exist anywhere else: it’s about easily accessible resources, a supportive community, and prioritizing relevant data. At principals’ convenings and other events, New Visions allows educators to get together and support each other. The New Visions team shares my school’s core values: community, care, rigor, and relevance.”
