What is the New Visions Scholarship?

With generous support from various donors, the New Visions Scholarship was established to support high school seniors from New Visions schools in attending accredited 4-year colleges or universities. This scholarship awards students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, strong character, and financial need. Scholarships of up to $20,000 are awarded over 4 years of full-time undergraduate study. The scholarship amount is determined by tuition costs and financial need.

Please Note: Submission of Standardized Test Scores is Optional!

The 2023/24 application is closed. Stay tuned for details on the 2024/25 application. 

Who is Eligible for the Scholarship?

Seniors in New Visions schools who are on track to graduate and demonstrate:

• Academic achievement, evidence of rigorous coursework, strong independent learning skills, curiosity, and self-motivation;  
• College readiness, ability to excel beyond requirements of difficult high school coursework;
• Leadership in school and community activities;  
• Integrity, actions that exhibit strength of character and ethical awareness;  
• Resilience and drive in overcoming obstacles and achieving goals;  
• Financial need.

How to Apply?

Applications are currently closed. For future applications, students will be required to submit the following online:

• ONE student essay:
  • Prompt: The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
• TWO letters of recommendation
