Affinity School Improvement Network

Since 2006, New York City has driven innovation through a unique structure that leverages trusted non-profit organizations to serve as lead partners to networks of secondary schools within the traditional district. As an Affinity Organization, New Visions currently convenes and provides comprehensive support to 71 diverse public high schools across all five boroughs. This work has consistently generated student outcomes that outpace the rest of the city and impactful innovations that have scaled across the public school system.

Schools and Outcomes

New Visions is a lead partner to 71 schools under the NYCPS Affinity School Support model. Our network of schools provides unique opportunities for educators to share knowledge and disseminate best practices for preparing students for successful futures in college and the workplace.

Social Emotional Learning

Social Emotional Learning at New Visions is grounded in the belief that authentic relationships and intentional systems are cornerstones of positive school outcomes. NVPS partners with schools and educators to build social emotional literacy and develop strategies that foster safety and belonging for everyone in the school community.

Postsecondary Pathways

New Visions works with schools to ensure that students receive high quality support to pursue college and careers. We also support schools in implementing scalable models of work-based learning so students can discover their interests and develop essential career skills.
